ABOUT

Who We Are

The Association for Music and Imagery (AMI) is devoted to advancing the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music and its adaptations. The association promotes training standards and practices, research, professional development, networking for members, and public outreach.

AMI Leadership Circle

As a non-profit professional organization, the Association for Music and Imagery is directed by an executive board of elected officers known as the leadership Circle. These officers have all the usual responsibilities of overseeing the communications, activities, and finances of an organization. However, the name “Circle” reminds us that the organization of AMI conducts its business in a manner consistent with values shared by Bonny Method practitioners and trainers. We find unity and strength in the circle as a form of leadership. AMI members participate in the activities of AMI in varied ways: through AMI committees, AMI membership meetings and conferences, writing for AMI publications, and offering or participating in continuing education activities. Increasingly, as we appreciate the global nature of our work and the growing presence of AMI members and members of other Bonny Method organizations around the world, the concept of Circle can be seen as a series of circles, where the positive influences of the Bonny Method are active through our work and moving out into the world.
