The 12th European GIM Conference will be held this year at the Eden Beach Resort Hotel near Athens, in Greece from the 15th to the 18th of September 2016. There will be a special pre-conference from the 13th to the 14th of September.
Entitled “European Perspectives on Guided Imagery and Music: Visions, Challenges and Crossroads,” the conference will approach several important themes including a new look at the core elements of GIM (music, imagery, guiding); the continuum of music and imagery methods as related to European practice; and European perspectives on GIM and M&I.
The pre-conference will be a special selection of workshops that combine GIM with other practices, approaches or psychotherapeutic techniques. These may include modifications of GIM for special populations, combined use of other psychotherapeutic techniques such as clinical hypnosis, narrative therapy, biofeedback etc, or the use of the body, movement, fairytales, drama therapy and psychodrama with GIM. The last section of the pre-conference will be a special 3-hour group workshop devoted to “live” GIM experiences. Emphasis will be given on space for discussion and feedback from these experiences.
AMI wishes the best of luck to the EAMI Conference Committee!
