Marie Laure Rodríguez-Quiroga
I am a music therapist, researcher, social innovator and gender consultant working at the intersection of clinical practice, research, education and social transformation. My work focuses on advancing music therapy through scientific research, evidence-informed practice and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and human dignity. I specialise in feminist and trauma-informed music therapy, with particular expertise in supporting women affected by machista partner violence and promoting recovery through creative and community-based approaches. I currently serve as Chair of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) Commission of the World Federation of Music Therapy (WFMT), leading international initiatives to foster meaningful participation, accessibility and knowledge equity across the global music therapy community. My research explores the impact of music therapy on psychological wellbeing, quality of life and recovery processes, particularly among women experiencing machista partner violence. I am committed to generating evidence that informs practice, influences policy and contributes to more inclusive and socially responsive healthcare systems.
